Curaleaf, one of the largest U.S. cannabis companies, and the Veterans Cannabis Project, an organization dedicated to supporting U.S. military veterans and improving their quality of life through increased access to medical cannabis, will celebrate the launch of a new product at the Curaleaf AZ Midtown dispensary.

The custom designed “Veterans Cannabis Project” pre-roll product will also be available for purchase at all five Curaleaf Arizona locations starting May 1. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Veterans Cannabis Project. Each box includes five pre-rolls, totaling two grams (prices will vary by state).

To celebrate, veterans will be able to purchase the Veterans Cannabis Project pre-rolls for only $5 on May 1 (limit one pack at discounted price, per customer) at Curaleaf AZ Midtown. Free lunch will be available for all veterans who attend.

There will be speeches from Dr. Sue Sisley, the Arizona researcher who conducted the first FDA-approved study of cannabis for PTSD in veterans, Doug Distaso, Executive Director of the Veterans Cannabis Project, and Curaleaf executives. Dispensary tour and patient interviews also available.

The Veterans Cannabis Project pre-roll product was originally launched in Maryland and will eventually be available for purchase in the 33 states where medical cannabis is legal.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
