Almost nine out of ten Americans now say that marijuana should be legal if its use is permitted by a doctor, according to nationwide Fox News telephone poll of more than 1,000 registered voters.
80 percent of the poll consisted of self-identified Republicans. The poll revealed a four percent increase in support of doctor-recommended marijuana use since Fox last polled the same question in 2010.
Although, some respondents were divided on whether they believed that “most people who smoke medical marijuana truly need it,” nonetheless, the vast majority of voters agreed that using the plant should be legal if a doctor recommends it.
