Do Other Marijuana Cards Work in AZ?
Yes. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) says you can possess and use marijuana in AZ if you have a medical marijuana card from another state. The Arizona Department of Health Services website (view question “QP40”) states that:
“State law allows a visiting qualifying patient with a registry identification card [medical marijuana card] or its equivalent, issued by the qualifying patient’s home state, to possess or use marijuana. However, a visiting patient is not authorized to obtain marijuana from a dispensary because the dispensary is required in statute to access a verification system before dispensing marijuana.”

This leaves out-of-state medical marijuana patients visiting Arizona in a bit of a conundrum because they can’t buy marijuana from a dispensary. And the ADHS doesn’t explain where else to legally get marijuana if you’re from out of state. Basically visitors can possess and consume marijuana in Arizona, but it appears there is no legal way for visitors to get marijuana. (Sounds like a typical ass-backwards government program.)
It might be legal for an out-of-state medical marijuana patient to get marijuana from an Arizona medical marijuana patient because it is legal for Arizona medical marijuana patients to “donate” marijuana to other patients or get marijuana from a caregiver.
