Arizona Reaches 200,000 Medical Marijuana Patients

The Arizona Department of Health Services’ (ADHS) May 2019 medical marijuana program report reveals that Arizona has:

  • Medical marijuana patients: 200,164
  • Caregivers: 773
  • Dispensary agents: 6,001

In May 2019, Arizona dispensaries sold a total of 13,772 pounds of marijuana (220,355 ounces). Types of marijuana sold:

  • Marijuana flower: 12,532 pounds (200,525 ounces)
  • Marijuana edibles: 494 pounds
  • Other marijuana: 745 pounds

The age ranges of Arizona’s medical marijuana patients are:

  • Under 18: 183
  • 18 to 30: 48,705
  • 31 to 40: 42,064
  • 41 to 50: 31,895
  • 51 to 60: 31,675
  • 61 to 70: 32,409
  • 71 to 80: 11,153
  • 81 and older: 2,080

According to the data, the sexes of Arizona’s patients are:

  • 118,804 males (59.35%)
  • 81,360 females (40.65%)

  • Chronic Pain: 176,771 (88.31%)
